Functional Aspects of Interlingual Borrowings: Current Challenges

A particular status of the English language as international communication and connections between nearly related German languages resulted in emergence many interlingual borrowings Modern vocabularies. The paper aims to consider functioning (loanwords) languages. To reach aim research carry out tasks assigned, following methods were used: a descriptive method, method correlation, componential analysis and, comparative semantic analysis. focuses on linguistic extralinguistic factors interaction. Special attention is paid clarifying notion borrowing modern science. word-formative calques half-calques (hybrids), which differ from ordinary lexical by using partially borrowed material, are identified addition direct subsystem under study. demonstrates significant influence structural-semantic qualities words, various changes, well participation loanwords lexico-semantic variation: synonymy, polysemy, homonymy, antonymy. results can also be used teaching learning both languages, course lexicology or linguistics.
